Jennifer Nelson
Jennifer Nelson is a free-lance graphic designer and mixed media artist based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She has 9 years of formal training, including classes at Atelier Lack and a BFA from the University of Minnesota at Deluth. Nelson often works with objects found in thrift stores and garage sales, or, in the case of her “Patterns of Dress” series, in her grandmother’s attic. In creating her tin collages, Nelson “harvests” old tin containers by cutting them up into fragments, then pieces them together to create whole new narratives. The results are playful, whimsical and often tongue-in-cheek.
